aircon woes...
i think this has been discussed over the fiat forum SG and UK...
the stupid aircon vent will auto-open even when you manually set it to "internal circulation"
damn irritating! can u imagine the vent open while u're behind a rubbish truck?
any suggestion for workaround? BTW, the "auto" mode doesn't helps at all... TTS can't advise further... damn!
any w/shop know how to physically closed the aircon vent w/o any modification done to the electric? or anyone already does it? pls share... tks!!

yah...my wife oso always complain to me on this when she in my bravo...
since it auto opens and close, wonder why there is a button to set it to "internal circulation"?
seems nothing can be done.
and i simply hate the reply from T*S..always the same....which is "oh...it is like that one, ok one, my fiat oso like dat"....
sigh.....*faint*

The aircon has this unique AQS feature which it will opens for a short while and take in oxygen from outside so u will not feel tired during long journey and it will cut off when it detect dust coming in.

Re: aircon woes...
i totally understand the AQS added feature... but when we manually set it to "internal" circulation, it shouldn't open at all right??? any recomm for w/shop physically seal the vent?

aiyoh....i know lah...u told me this before....remember?

but it does not make sense lah.....
all my other cars before on internal circulation never had issue before with tiredness for long journeys even to m'sia.....so not a good reasoning lah....
and i beg to differ. it does not take in oxygen lah...more like the exhaust of front lorries/cars....v v strong smell...wonder why the air con filter does not seem to work.....maybe should change those with charcoal kind?

i fully agree with u.....this is indeed one of the most stupid system....
allowing the owner to set it to internal circulation and yet it still self-regulate external at times.....really stupid....

Re: aircon woes...
Guys,
Try this and let me know if it solves the problem?
First, ur a/c must be turned on to AUTO Mode, NOT FULL AUTO
Set a/c to enable the RECYCLE AIR Mode...
It worked well for me so far... No auto-opening of the a/c vents...

Re: aircon woes...
hmm, is the below correct?
Auto = AQS activated
Recycled = Internal circulation
i tot once you start your engine, it's full defaulted to AUTO mode?
For me is: AUTO, then immediately to Recycled. but vent still open leh...
even when i drove w/o aircon, the vent oso open on its own!?!?

Re: aircon woes...
looks like we have just got to accept this good/bad point and live with it.
as some would advise, it is good for long distance driving where the internal cabin air is recycled to ensure freshness of the driver.
just tat in sg....we dun go on such long journeys....
